NORWICH flights return with new operator
Wednesday 14 December 2011
Both business and leisure passengers will welcome the return of the Exeter – Norwich air link next March, cutting over five hours off a road or rail journey.
The new operator on the East Anglia route is Loganair, and the Flybe franchise carrier will offer flights seven days a week from 25 March 2012 with fares from just £49.99 one-way including all taxes.
Matt Roach, managing director of Exeter Airport, said: “We are always pleased to see a new operator at Exeter especially when they are putting on flights to a destination at the top of our UK most requested list. There was particular regret from the family and friends market when it ceased so the return of the Norwich route should prove to be very popular.”
Links between Exeter and Norwich were offered by Flybe until 2009 but Loganair, under a franchise agreement with Flybe, using smaller a 31-seat Dornier 328 fast turboprop of its wholly-owned subsidiary Suckling Airways, aims to make the route viable.
Passengers on the 75 minute scheduled service will benefit from huge cost and time savings as car or train journeys would take five or six hours.
Loganair’s Chief Operating Officer Jonathan Hinkles said: “We are delighted to be bringing our successful formula of frequent flights coupled to a range of fares to suit both business and leisure travellers to the Exeter-Norwich route. It will save customers from arduous road or rail journeys and we believe the new link will prove hugely popular throughout the year.”
Bookings on the new route may be made at flybe.com or 0871 700 2000.
Daily departures - Norwich to Exeter 10:15 (14:45 on Sundays)
Exeter to Norwich 12:00 (16:30 on Sundays).
The lowest fares are available on-line and a surcharge will apply for bookings made via travel agents or the Flybe call centre.
Passengers aged 16 and over departing from Norwich Airport are required to pay a separate £10 Airport Development Fee at the airport. This amount is not included in the fares quoted and must be paid separately by passengers prior to departure from Norwich.
