Twice a week to Sharm el-Sheikh
Thursday 16 December 2010Following an excellent response to the first ever season of flights from Exeter to Sharm el-Sheikh this winter, Thomson and First Choice have announced that the route will operate again for the winter 2011/12 and they will be adding a second flight every week from November 2011 until the end of April 2012.
Jamie Christon, Managing Director of Exeter International Airport, said: “This is great news. We are only part way through the first season of flights to Egypt and already Thomson has acknowledged its success by doubling capacity for next year. The support from the operator for new routes means that our customers are able to travel further afield from their local airport.”
Carl Gissing, Director of Customer Services for Thomson Airways, said: “At Thomson Airways we are fully committed to supporting our regional UK airports as we understand the importance of offering our customers greater choice and flexibility. The popularity and success of the Sharm el Sheikh route in its first season has enabled us to increase our offering, further contributing to the growth in charter passenger numbers from Exeter.”
