Air Malta Marks 20 years of Operation at Exeter Airport
Friday 02 July 2010
An Air Malta aircraft has become a regular Tuesday morning feature at Exeter Airport and this year the airline celebrates 20 years of operations to and from the South West.
The three hour flights linking Exeter and Malta started as a summer series in 1990. These quickly developed and extended into the winter and shoulder months and Air Malta is now planning the weekly charter service from April next year that will run throughout the summer season.
During recent meeting to discuss current market requirements and projections, Jamie Christon (left), Managing Director, Exeter Airport said: “We are pleased to mark Air Malta’s 20 years of operations. This charter operation is very important for us as people can travel to Malta from an airport that is closer to home. Exeter Airport and Air Malta are providing a direct link for the airport’s catchment area of about two million people.”
Mr. Victor Mifsud (right), Head of Charter Sales at Air Malta on behalf of the airline thanked the management and staff of Exeter Airport as well as many other suppliers and the tour operators for all their support during the last 20 years. He also thanked the many locals who have become regular and loyal customers of Air Malta flights from Exeter.
The national airline operates flights offering a full service treatment to passengers consisting of a complimentary meal, 8Kgs free hand luggage allowance and 20Kgs free baggage allowance per person, in-flight entertainment and constant attention from the crew.
